Shipping policy

1. Shipping Methods & Timing:

  • Standard Shipping: Free for the continental U.S., typically delivered within 2-8 business days. Please note, we do not control carrier delays once the package leaves our facility.
  • It is your responsibility to monitor your tracking information, as deliveries can occasionally take up to 2 weeks depending on carrier conditions.
  • Exclusions for Bulk Orders: Bulk orders don’t qualify for free shipping, and shipping costs are calculated based on weight at checkout. Bulk orders must be shipped overnight or picked up locally, and Southwest Cargo can be arranged for orders of 100 lbs. or more.  
  • Shipping Areas: Free shipping in Continental USA only. Does not include Alaska, American Samoa, Micronesia, Guam, Hawaii, Marshall Islands, Northern Mariana Islands, Palau, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, Armed Forces Americas, Armed Forces Europe, or Armed Forces Pacific.
  • Carriers Used: Orders are shipped via USPS Priority Mail or UPS, generally Mondays-Wednesdays.  Bulk orders typically ship Mondays and Tuesdays only. 

2. Packaging & Delivery:

  • Packaging:  Your worms are securely packed in breathable bags with dry peat moss and placed inside corrugated cardboard boxes. It’s normal for them to arrive slightly dehydrated or smaller in size due to transit stress. With proper care and rehydration, they can regain up to 30% of their body weight.
  • Delivery Timeline: Shipments usually arrive within 2-8 business days once sent.  Please note, we do not control carrier delays once the package leaves our facility.
  • Weather Conditions: The company reserves the right to delay shipments due to extreme weather to ensure the safety of the live worms.
  • Tracking Information: Customers receive tracking information via email within 12 hours of shipment, provided they include a valid email during the ordering process.

3. Live Delivery Guaranteed with Free Shipping!

  • Conditions:
    • Customers must be available to receive the worms or arrange for a "Hold at Post Office" notice. If the package is left outside or in a mailbox, the guarantee is void.
    • To ensure a successful delivery, please make arrangements so your worms are not left in a mailbox or unattended on a porch. We do not guarantee live arrival under these conditions. Kindly notify your postal carrier that you are expecting a live shipment. Please note that we are not responsible for postal service delays or errors. Be sure to track and retrieve your delivery promptly.
    • A notification of dead arrivals must be sent within two (2) hours, including a video or images showing the dead worms and the shipping label.
    • The company will replace dead worms once, but no refunds are offered.
    • Address changes after placing an order void the guarantee.
    • Bulk worm shipments must use overnight delivery to qualify for the live guarantee; otherwise, the customer covers the replacement and shipping costs.

 Order Policies

      • Pre-Orders are Final: Please make your decision carefully, as pre-orders cannot be canceled.
      • Shipping Schedule: Orders placed at any time from Sunday to Saturday ship on the Monday of the next week.
      • Temperature Hold: For the safety of your worms, we may hold orders if temperatures are extreme and/or exceed 90°F or drop below 30°F.
      • Cancellation Fees: If you cancel before delivery, a 3% processing fee will be deducted from your refund.

4. Non-Worm Shipments:

  • These may be sent using any carrier and could arrive on any day of the week.

5. Important Notes:

  • The company is not responsible for errors made by postal services and encourages customers to stay alert for their deliveries.
  • The guarantee emphasizes reshipment rather than refunds, focusing on ensuring customers receive live worms without offering monetary compensation for DOA (Dead on Arrival) shipments.
